Small Space. Big Dock.

Designing the storage building was a challenging task on numerous levels. As noted before, the building site was raised over 8’ to be safely out of the flood plain. The adjacent former Graves Humphreys building is remaining in place, which create a difference in grades between the two buildings and throughout the parking areas.

However, with this challenge came a solution that will be a significant benefit for our customers: multiple loading areas at various grades! These various loading/unloading areas adjacent to the 10’ corridors will prevent bottlenecks and allow for easy access at various entrances to the building. We have options for those who want to park and carry a few items into their unit. Or we have a shorter dock for an SUV or U-haul to back up and unload straight to a dock. Perhaps most notable, and unique in the industry, however, is the full-size commercial loading dock area. This dock will be able to accommodate a full-size 53’ tractor-trailer which will be ideal for commercial customers and businesses with bigger or more frequent delivery schedules.  Check out pictures for the loading dock in progress here!
